My next post is a homage to the jumpsuit. Or catsuit or playsuit. Whatever the name there are lots of different shapes and colours of these one pieces around at the moment. I think a jumpsuit is a much more versatile option than a maxi dress for this summer, you can dress them up or down with various jackets and belts, for example. I also don’t think you need to be super slim to wear them, because the wide legged versions are great for hips and if you are athletic build you can go head to toe in florals (and only you, ms athletic, will ever get away with this.)
Something about these jumpsuits are a throw back to other eras and ages, think of the 70s jumpsuit or the more glitzy 80s version. I look at the playsuits and think of 50s swimwear, and yes, there is something quite playful about them!
My favourite jumpsuit is all black and wide legged, from FCUK a few seasons ago. I really do wear it anywhere; home, work, out for the evening – it makes me feel very Bond Girl whenever I wear it. I haven’t yet braved the floral variety but watch this space!
