My Texan Adventure…

So there is nothing remotely special about my outfit here, it was a gazillion degrees in Texas and I was trying to beat the heat.  I spent a week in Austin just recently and I had a little adventure! I found some wonderful boutiques such as Plain Ivey Jane, Moss designer consignment store and Teddies for Bettys (T4Bs – you have so much of my favourite lingerie clearly I am all set if I ever I move here!), heard some great live music, tasted a lot of great food and met a charming couchsurfing-across-the-US Frenchman who played ukulele for me.

This post is a mini photo diary of my trip.  I’ll post some outfits and specific information about the boutiques I mentioned, over the next few weeks…

Below – the amazing array of cowboy boots at Allens, an absolutely MUST visit if you take a trip to Austin.  I got the most amazing help from Melissa at the store, advising me on all kinds of boots (you can buy Lucchese boots here, created from the finest grade of leathers):

They also stock a huge range of Stetsons, which had me feeling all True Grit (what I shame I don’t also have the Miu Miu clothing like Ms Steinfeld).  I couldn’t quite imagine this look working in NYC or London for that matter, a whole different StyleOnTheSaddle indeed…

Below, wearing: denim shorts from GAP.  Tee – Reiss.  (FYI – this is the most tanned I have ever been.  Yet I still look paler than most people I know, darn it.)

The most I’ve explored Texas is the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, and this post has made me think I need to change that. There is so much fascinating history and culture in Texas, not to mention amazing style. I just love the photo of you wearing a Stetson!

    • Haha Cee I am not sure it is a look that I could carry off in London or New York but if I were to spend any amount of time in Texas I would be right there buying that Stetson for sure! xo

Great photos Sarah. Love the stetson on you. Glad you had a nice holiday. I’ve never been to Austin, but it looks like a fun place to visit.

PS. No need to look tanned. Pale is great!

You look great in those tiny shorts, love how you pair them with a relatively plain vest yet still look amazing. Hope you’ve been enjoying your adventures lately – you’ve been all over the place!

I can see the tan, it’s a nice glow – think I prefer it to what I imagine a full blown tan to look like on you anyway. You look fresh, and healthy x
