The Malinda Gown: David Peck Collection AW12

The second in my series about David Peck‘s autumn winter collection for 2012 (read part one here) is this beautiful white lace Malinda Gown made from heavy crepe / organza.  The sheer panel at the bottom of the dress is rather unique and quite stunning to wear, a little flirty too because of where the skirt section begins.

In his collection of gowns and separates made from certified organic, fair trade and natural fabrics, Peck has created some beautiful styles rich in colour and texture.  A selection of my favourites from fall winter 2012 is below; also check out the Miles Dress, in printed silk organza with ‘see saw’ style skirt.

I’m a huge fan of David’s because he is committed to sustainable fashion and passionate about being socially responsible as a business and a brand.  Each season he partners with a charity to promote and bring awareness of their cause – for fall / winter 12 Peck is working with Covenant House in Texas, an organization offering shelter and services to homeless and at risk youth under the age of 21.  You can read more about David’s work with Covenant House here.

Thank you to Steve Wampler and Alex Suarez for these photos.

Where do I even begin? Words do not describe just how much I love this dress. I caught a sneak peek of it – I think it was on your facebook page and was immediately smitten, but that one photo simply did not do it justice. The illusion of a sweater-over-dress look with the thicker fabric over the flowing skirt makes this dress like nothing I’ve ever seen. And only in the best possible way, of course! Just when I think you can’t get any lovelier, you outdo yourself 🙂

I love the rich colours of his clothes, particularly that stunning orange blouse! This dress looks fantastic on you, combinging elegance with a bit of a flirt (as you mentioned). It’s really nice to hear of fashion doing something less materialistic and participating in sustainability and charity. 🙂 x

Beautiful! I love the sheer part of the dress and the fact that part of the proceedings go to a great cause. May I add that the look would have been perfect with red lips? 😉
